I'm with Russel (unless it's an electric), but my SATA MiniJet is fine for bursts and shading. Spot Repair tip if you want a smaller burst layout. This said, I've seen many folks use airbrushes for bursts, works fine... |

I will highly recommend the only gun I have ever used, aside from a Pasch airbrush from my plastic model building days. It's the Lemmer A-710S. I bought the T-55 package with the gun and turbine but the gun is available separately if you already have an HVLP setup. I also added a second cup so I could dedicate one for color and the other for clear. Along with the usual horizontal and vertival spray patterns it also has a round setting. With the fan width dialed way down this thing can shoot a dot a bit bigger than a pencil eraser. Louis |

I've only got the 1mm tip, so I can't really comment. The spray's not huge, relatively adjstable, and works fine for me. An airbrush will give you a bit more control, I'll wager, for subtle burst effects, but I'm comfortable and happy with my SATA, so I don't plan to buy anything else for the occasional bursts I do. |
