Hey my northern brethren I was going to ask if their were any members from Grand Rapid but I went to the home site and saw at least three or four listed in Grand Rapids.

I lived in Grand Rapids/Kentwood (1238 Picket to be exact) from second to sixth grade Bowen Elementary go Bowen Arrows!    We moved to Oklahoma in 1976 and Michigan was by far the prettiest place I ever lived.

Camping in the upper peninsula, Holland Tullip festivals, MacInaw (sp?) bridge, island, the Great Lakes..... I don't miss the cold but what a beautiful place.

Can I be an honorary member?

Anyone else go to Bowen?

Cheers

Hello Scooter!
I just wanted to send you a hello back from GR! It's hot here. <G>
Too bad you aren't still here, I'd like to see your guitars. And sure, you can join up! Just send me at least one set of Brazilian Rosewood, and you're in for sure. <G>

Yah, we've got it all, the cold, the heat, west shoreline, east shoreline, a big bridge, and an island getaway! We're like the U.S. capsulated. Despite my occasional bellyachin', I wouldn't live anywhere else!! Good to hear from ya!

Hey Mark,

I have a set of Brazilian Rosewood for you....a set of tooth picks but you didn't specify what kind of set of Rosewood other than Brazillian.

Darin,

While the people down here in Oklahoma are great it is a sore sight for eyes after living in Michigan....

Our trees only have two colors in the fall; green and then brown....nothing in between

Every lake here except one man made lake (near the Arkansas border)with a deep rocky bottom is so stained red from the clay you can't see your toes in ankle deep water....

When I lived up there you could see 20 feet down in most lakes. Lake Michigan may be another story but the "internal" lakes were all pristine.

The education system up there as well was miles ahead of Oklahoma.

When I moved in 6th grade junior high I had science, geography/social studies, algebra and an english/literature class.

In Oklahoma I got to go back to grade school for the rest of 6th grade and did not get a science class until 9th grade, algebra until 8th grade....

I do like it down here due to the people and layed back down to earth life style but it aint much to look at for the most part unless you like sparse tree populations, flat land and lots of dry red dirt.

Edmond Oklahoma

Just north of Oklahoma City (where I work) and formerly home to Shanon Miller.

I took a physics class her father taught around 82 or 83 way before Shanon was on the Olympic team but I'm sure she was taking lessons at Dynamo Gym at the time.
