Bob, Hmm, I think the only way I've ever seen it done was for classical rosettes which included a bunch of tiles and purfling strips. If I remember correctly they just routed out the rosette size in a piece of UHMW and then inlayed the entire rosette there, soaked it with CA, and then popped it out and cleaned it up in preparation for inlaying into the guitar. I know this isn't much help as far as jigs, but it's the only way I've ever seen it done. John |

Bob, give this link a try. There is an jig listed under the "Articles" section which was based on an original design by fellow OLF'er Steve Kinnaird. |

John[/QUOTE] This sort of what I did when I made a classical style rosette but usually on my steel strings I just do it righ in the top. Take a look at this article on Ed Claxton and see the video where he is building a rosette. He4 has a unique jig for assembling his rosette. By the way, you will definately need a broadband connection for this. |

Bob, In the archives there`s a run down on one I made. It`s similar to Dan Fobert`s rendition, but in a reverse spyrograph style. I don`t know how to post the link, but if you check out "Made a rosette today" in the archives, you should be able to find it. |
