I took Hesh`s advice and told the little woman I needed a thickness sander to build my grandaughter a crib.Oh so clever.I sanded 52 slats today with my new Performax 10-20.Can`t wait to sand some sides tops and backs.Hesh I`ll see you in the fall .I hope all you builders are paying attention.    James W B

Doesn't everyone do this? Whenever my wife asks me to do a job it's always "yes, I can do it, but I'll need to buy a tool"

She wants a new deck, I want a compressor and a nail gun or two.

Standard practice.

To the trained eye, the 1/4 sawn Red Spruce panelling I had to by for the kid's cubby house looks remarkable like Pinus radiata

He's already doomed anyway. She has her own ID here remember. Besides, doesn't it work the same on the other side of the fence fellas?

Of course just as a "honey do list" is gender neutral so to would and should this award be. All OLFers are eligible.

I would like to share "a walk on the wild side', if I may.

I buy all the tools, power and manual, in this house. My boyfriend is a stock broker and an actor. His skills and abilities with tools are parallel to those of Charlie Brown and his kite flying. What does he know about tools?

Well, here's what he knows....I am the builder. (you should see the deck, picket fence, and 6' privacy fence I have build, not to mention all the woodwork I've done inside my 100-year-old home. All custom)

I read about tools, I ask others about their tools, I stop in at the vocational college and discuss tools with the instructors.

Then, I go shopping. My boyfriend LOVES going tool shopping with me and watching the show. He likes it because, like my OLF family, I know what I want but most of all I know what I really don't want and why.

When the salespeople start to feed me mis-information or steer me to what they NEED to sell this "pixie's" cannon lets all the information spew forth. I adore the looks on their faces and the back-pedelling commences.

Besides, my boyfriend knows that if he has a problem with me buying anything, he can go sleep on the leather sofe in his office - in NYC!

I think you may be related to my wife.
But she doesn't have a problem with me buying tools anymore either as long as I don't tell her she can't buy tulips.

Hey John, I think there needs to be a machine to make tulips, they are my wife's favourites.

Hey Jeanne, I think you just disappointed a lot of single guys here on the forum with the "boyfriend" word.
