I was speaking to a friend this a.m., a fellow luthier- type friend, who had purchased the same brand epoxy I had trouble with, and from the same store. The interesting thing to me, is that the had the SAME results. His epoxy would not set up either. Did exactly what mine did. (Stayed a gooey, sticky mess.)

Now, I would suspect poor technique from my clumsy hands, but not from his. Maybe it was a bad batch afterall.

So now I feel a bit better, and want to share this with all who think much less of me than they used to do. (If that were possible. )

so there....

Okay Steve, I respect you as a luthier again. This has nothing to do with all those beautiful guitars you build, it is only because the "epoxy incident" wasn't really your fault.

Paul, do you mean, did I pay this guy to confirm my own experience?

      no

The only $$ that changed hands was the unfortunate amount paid for the epoxy in the first place.

And j--it was loctite. (Talk about a misnomer.)

Guys, your support is deeply appreciated. And JJ, I'm going to bed.

Steve

Steve,

I'm no expert on Epoxies, but I have had good experiences with the West System Epoxy and Z Epoxy, over hear and I guess in the USA too, they sell a small pack of the west system epoxy, if like me you don't have the need or the finance for the full blown version
