Hello everyone in my wonderful OLF family,

First I would like to thank everyone for unselfishly offering aide, assistance, input, and lots of great laughs.

However, there has been an issue/incident on this forum that has caused me to reflect whole-heartedly at my involvement here. My decision therefore is to leave the forum.

I will miss you all and I had a BLAST in the short time I was here. I wanted this "ride" to last a lifetime! I learned allot and am well on my way to keeping my start date of October 1st thanks to each and every one of you.

Will I still build guitars? You can bet big money that I will! I will just have to wing it the old-fashioned way and use trial and error. I know sometimes I will have good judement, and other times I will have poor judgement. That's part of life and learning.

Lance, my guy paid for a 1-year or was it 2-year (?) membership for me. I am sure the $ will be put to very good use. It is that one floating around in your no-response file. He hates paperwork

I am not one to walk away without saying "adieu" to the best forum in the universe!!!

I am and will always be,
Jeanne

Jeanne,

Because you've been such a friendly and positive person, I'm sure that any offense must have been inadvertent. Misunderstandings have happened here in the past and were able to be reconciled. Let's keep talking, and see if we can work it out.

If the problem occured by PM or e-mail, please discuss it with Lance. He has shown a great deal of wisdom in these things.

I too am saddened by this news. I sure hope nobody offended you personally, or some of your big brothers here will have words with whoever it was...
But if you really feel strongly that whatever this is cannot be resolved, we will understand.
I would ask that you at least share what it was with Lance and the offending parties if you haven't already. I'm one of those folks who sometimes says things in ways that I don't mean, and I find myself apologising for my foolish words. The last thing I would ever want to do is hurt another, and if I offend someone, I would hope that they would say something and give me a chance to "make it right" if possible.
If one person was offended, perhaps others were as well.

Your kind and insightfull words will be missed, as well as your gracious personality.

Best wishes to you and yours...

Don Williams

p.s.... my wife is a 2nd grade teacher...she will be sorry you're gone too!

Jeanne, please don't go...this forum is one big family and we can and have had differences of opinion and sometimes poorly chosen words... I urge you to go via PM to the person who offended you and talk it thru before you decide to leave! This is THE best forum on the WWW! Lance has worked hard to make it so and I'm sure he will help in any way he can!

Peace,
Larry

Jeanne, This is very sad news. I like the others urge you to reconsider and also to work on working out what ever has happened in your short time here. If it was something within the past 24-48 hours, I'm sure that it can be resolved as our host is not always online.

Please do not leave, I had high hopes that you would rival Serge for most positive and encouraging posts here at the OLF.

We would hate to not see your first guitar and help you along the way.

I took some time to reread some of your posts and you strike me as such a nice person. I would hate to see the community lose someone of your caliber. If you perchance do not reconsider I wish you all the best, but would rather have someone like you around.
Evan

Wow! The force is stong on this forum! Someone call George Lucas!

TRANSLATION: Serge, my little "cabbage" (a French term of endearment). You are truly a magnificent person and it is because of you I did not want to really leave. But sometimes, it is more graceful to bow out than to remain where sadness lives. Thank-you very much for asking me to stay. It means allot to me.

Bob: I am a lady and will not say why and what happened as the person has many fine and admirable attributes outside what was said.

Carlton: I always subscribe to the "let's talk it over" belief, and be assured it has worked with this person, much to both of our reliefs.

Hesh: Your kind and encouraging words struck a chord (no pun intended) with me and as always made more sense than anything going on in the situation that caused me to consider leaving OLF.

And Don: It is nice to know I have big brothers on the forum. After all we have a "Don" and where would be without him! I can't let your wife down - 2nd grade teachers rule!

My thanks to anyone I didn't list here as there may have been postings while I was composing.

So my friends, how can I leave with such an outpouring of concern from my OLF family? Impossible to do so

This individual has been in contact with me and "smoked the peace pipe". We ironed out the situation and have an understanding about the incident that occured and we both know it will never happen again.

Thanks to those of you who PMed me.

Brock - everything is cool.

Besides, I need to stick around or you will all be in trouble if Hesh quits using Word and goes back to posting with that dastardly spelling he possesses. YIKES!

So, where do I go for my first post as a returning sister of the OLF? Jeanne38941.8759375

All right, Great choice Jeanne, we won't regret it.

I'm very glad you've chosen to stay. Look out Serge my friend, you've got competition.

This is why we need you to stay around, cause most guys have foot in mouth disease, even if they don't know it. I've had it for many years now, sometimes you think it's gone, but it's just in remission.

We hare lucky to have a fine Lady such as yourself here Jeanne.
