Hey, thanks to all who made suggestions, I kept trying to get a picture that captures the beauty of the wood. Same orphan board, sanded, two coats of zinnsers sealcoat in morning sun. |

Good job. I assume that is sapele, am I right about that? It amazes me how something as flat as a board can look so three demensional. It seems to have hills and valleys with shadows and illuminated peaks. Just amazing. Is that board really flat? ![]() |

Hey guys, yes this is the figured pomele Sapele. Don, you may have some, I have a dozen sets ready. Is that board really flat?, yes about .140 flat both sides.... Thanks Jeff, I know one thing, it took all week to get ready, but I can ship it pretty quick. |

Wow, Really nice photo Bruce! It was worth all the experimentation & hard work. That Sapele is gorgeous. I bought some Sapele from LMI recently but it's the tight longitudinal ribbon figure - not this beautiful mottled pomelle. Wish I had waited. Skip |

Thanks, that represents a bunch of effort to capture the beauty of this Sapele I purchased. I guess buying enough for a 100 sets was a bit overboard? Grin. I just hated seeing it go through the planer, become 5/4 material and then cabinets..... caught it just before they were going to run it. |

Super wood, Bruce! You folks build cabinets out of Sapele?? Wow. I guess I had better go to the local hardwood dealer and see if they are hiding anything in the back. Or I guess I will have to save a few more bucks and give you a call. Your photo is excellent!! Keep up the good work. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
