Well, I`m finally getting finished up on my first build, and think y`all should get a peek at it. I`ve actually built this one from scratch twice when you consider the mistakes I made in the process, but hey, #2 is soon to follow! The body is walnut with maple bindings, herringbone purfs (boy were they fun to make). Spruce top, walnut neck with scarf joint and stacked heel. Fretboard is mac ebony from Kelby (where are ya Kelby?). Rosette is a simple walnut field with the same for the trim lines. I wish to thank everyone here for the info and advice. Couldn`t have done it without the OLF! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Good job! You made your own herringbone? That's pretty ambitious for a first guitar and it looks like you did a fine job there too; how about some close-ups of it or progress shots if you have any. |

WAWG, what a wonderful guitar! Dang Coe, you raised the bar for everyone working on their tenth guitar. Really nice appointments, very earthy. |

Very nice tenth guitar! Oh, it's your first? Shazam! I like that you worked out aesthetic details like the heel endcap alignment with the binding. Did you really make the herringbone purfling? I hope you made a whole bunch of it at once. I'll bet that was tedious. Nice job! Dennis |

Great looking guitar Coe you should be mighty proud of your wonderful achievement, I don't think mine looked anywhere as good as that till I got to a half dozen or so. The finish looks very nice, just the right amount of sheen that lets the wood shine through. You'll love the walnut (just working on a walnut OM). I think the OLF is having a great effect on first builds, I've never seen so many great #1s, just think of the years I wasted ![]() Colin |

Great #one Coe! I love the maple binding. It looks like you got a nice match up with the neck wood choice as well. I also like your bridge design. Wade |
