Call John Hall @ Blues Creek. He's the man with the plans. |

I think the D18 is the same as the D28, just in mahogany. Its when you get into the D1 or D15 that the bracing patterns change a bit. |

D 18 was origional dred, 12 fret, with nicer curves and a longer body than today's D. Came out in 33, then demand rose for 14 fret sooooooo Martin simply decreased the top of the box by 2 frets-Really then The D28 should be called 'short bodies. |

Bob, a D-18 is commonly known as a 14 fret instrument. A D-18s is the 12 fret version, and is a different beast. If you wanted a 12-fret version you have to specify... Still, John Hall would be your man. |

Yeah, we take too many things for granted, good health is one of them John, it makes us appreciate life more when normalcy comes back. |

while it is true that martin did not put out a dreadnaught under their name until the 1930's, the dreadnaught body style was first made by martin in the late 191-'s for ditson's, a boston or new york music house, and was marketed under their lable. |
