...getting a recording of one of your guitars? Not much in my book. Got this today from a fella (Derek Coombs) out in California. Pretty much made my day. This is why we build them isn't it!?!

Paul

Just out of interest what is the top and back and side material. I was trying to guess by the sound, but I fear I might make a fool of myself !!!

Is the "golden age of lutherie" driving the "golden age of fingerstyle guitar", or vice versa? Sure seems like a lot of interesting fingerstylists out there now...

Paul, congratulations on a wonderful sounding guitar! Is this mic(s) only, pickups only, or something blended. (sounds like mics - very natural sound!) If it has any pickups, please tell me what brand and model!

Dennis

Wow, Paul...very impressive!!!

You have a lot to be proud of! That sounded so sweet.

What style of guitar, wood combo, etc.?

BTW, I'm taking Frank to Madtown for a college visit in September...what nights do you do your gig. Thought we might stop to hear you play if possible.

That is so cool of the player to think of you and provide such sweet feedback. Excellent way to say Thanks.

Very nice, Paul! I'm glad he used a mic, so we got the real sound--and it sounds great! Guy's a good player, too!

Me too. That's why I had to ask, even though I was pretty darn sure it was mics. Wish I knew how to get that kind of quality with my home recording equipment. Just a wonderful presence - seems like I'm sitting in front of the guitar.

It's probably an expensive ribbon condenser mic. Either that, or an SM-57 with a really great guitar!

I've got an MXL 2003 and an MXL 603S. I had probably better save up my money for a Woolson guitar if I want to get that sound!

Hey, my guitars are much cheaper than some of the mics I've seen.
Tell you what, you buy a guitar and I'll throw in an SM-57 so you can record it. Deal?

Paul, very nice sounding guitar, an air of the pre-war Martin 28 about it, good advertising.

See guys that's what we need on here more music, without that our creations are just so much expensive timber!

Very nice sounding guitar, Paul. I agree, it would be fun if we could get more good quality recorings of the guitars posted here. It is always difficult to describe the tone of an instrument, and even though a recording only tells you so much depending on the player, the recoring equipment and so on it certainly adds to the picture and could be used more often to illustrate certain points in discussions.

Amazing sound !!!
I'm hoping some day I'll build a guitar that sounds like that (someone else will have to play it of course ).
Is there any chance the player has a CD available?
