Jeanne, your concerns about being found out on the OLF are real. However, Kathy Matsushita in California, an English teacher, is quite accessible. Oh, and she builds a mean guitar/ mandolin/ fiddle....etc, and very beautifully.

Just thought you'd want to know. You are right.

I still don't get it. Bruce, why don't you explain what this is all about and clear up any misunderstandings, you are very cryptic.

I could be wrong, but I think Bruce is just tugging Jeanne's chain, sorta like getting your picture taken in a crowd and someone saying "There is no denying you were here now "

I believe its all in good humor.

Jeanne mentioned in a previous post (in a different thread) that she would include a luthier's bio in the OLF bios, but since she is a teacher, she said she was reluctant to do so if her bio info was accessable via web searches. Bruce simply showed her that any info in the OLF is available to search engines.

Hesh,
Touche! Ouch!

Yes, this would have been better in the OT column.

Also, Jeanne, whom I do not know, has not left any private info for anyone to glean from the OLF, other than the fact that she is very interested in guitars.

A million pardons.

Gee...uhm...<sigh>

For a change - I have nothing positive to add here that wouldn't be misunderstood, taken out of context, or garner another thread with my name in the subject line.

Hey Bruce- No hard feelings

I just want to have fun and build some guitars!

Please, I know you meant well, but imagine my position of waking up in the morning and walking out to get the paper and there I am on the front page and the first thing that runs through my mind is "What'd I do????"

Well, that is how I felt when I signed on and found a subject line with my name and the searches contained that you found for me. Again, I KNOW you meant well, but I was embarassed to have the attention called to me in such a forward manner.

Yes, anyone using a public forum on the Internet is wide open for anyone and everyone to seek, search, and unfortunately exploit. I knew that when I made my post in another thread and asked about the security of a bio.

How secure is a bio on this forum? It is NOT. I understand the thread postings being available for everyone surfing to read, which is the graciousness and nature of the OLF forum - to share the love, knowledge and techniques of lutherie with others.

However, and I might be a "group-of-one here, bios could be secured a step above and beyond, IMVVVVHO. Currently, anyone can join and therefore is granted access to bios. I don't know what the answer is...I just posed the question..

I understand not giving specifics and as Serge pointed out, a bio can be innocuous and extremely general in what information it contains. So mine shall be as such.

So, with that all written, posted, and put out there for EVERYONE in the world to read....Let's all forget about this and move on to doing what everyone here LOVES - lutherie

Oh and Bruce.....
