I have finally finished the all Koa Uke I have been building for Edwin Mulitalo, #64, right guard for the Baltimore Ravens. Here are some pics. Some of you may remeber me posting about having to do the inlay twice on the fretboard. That was a low point. The rest went fairly smooth. The inlay on the peghead is a picture of him playing a Uke. Bindings are EIR with B/W purfling lines. Ebony fretboard, bridge and peghead veneer, Koa Back, top and sides. Fretboard inlay is Brazilian cherry and B/W purfling lines. The rosette is abalone with B/W purfling lines. I used a classical stlye bridge. The finish is catalyzed urethane. Thanks for looking! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Great Uke! Would love to see a picture of a lineman playing it. I hope he don't crush it. Tom |

Ed is a 350 pound Somoan lineman but surprisingly he has no problem playing a Uke. |

Don, I really liked the smiley uke. Does it get much use? |

Hey Joe, Nah...not much use at all. It doesn't play in tune for one thing...it was meant more for the fun of it than for actually playing it. I suppose I could make a new neck with a "real" scale... |
