A customer brought a guitar back to have the finish repaired (she left it in a hot car) and it has a clear pickguard on it, the peel and stick type. What is the best way to remove this for refinishing?

I just use a haidryer and gently heat it as I peel it away.

Should be cool, just don't let it get too hot

Go slow and easy and then clean up all of the sticky glue left behind with naptha. This can take a little while damhikt

Richard,
I just did this on my Bouzouki about 2 weeks ago. I removed it no problem, but it did take some of the finish. I guess I didn't take it slow enough as I heated it. I just refinished the area since it was FP, and now all is good. Good luck, just go slow!
