I would like to welcome Hibdon Hardwoods as the OLF's newest sponsor. Hibdon has been a supplier to the musical instrument world since 1978 and they have some excellent tonewoods.

Check out their site

Welcome, Glad to see you here.
Without wood how could we ever build instruments.
Nice selection on your site, you've got what we want.

Tom

Welcome, Bill & Nancy--two of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. And some of the most beautiful wood to be had! Glad to see your presence around here.

Now remember the recommended guideline: a free set to each member when you sign on as a sponsor.

(Make mine Ziricote )

Steve

Welcome Hibdon! I was looking for a pair of Cocobolo sets to build a set of twins for a client and Hibdon had the ticket!

Great service and fast shipping, just as weve come to expect from our great OLF Sponsors!

I thought some members might be interested to know that I work with Bill Hibdon at Hibdon Hardwood to help him promote and process the timbers used in lutherie. I work one day per week in the downtown St. Louis location (usually Tuesday) outlining the week's work for my assistant, Andrew Gribble, who spent some time with Brian Galloup. I answer emails and return phone calls as necessary from home. For those of you who don't know me, I have been building guitars for over 30 years and continue to do so the other 6 days of the week. At Hibdon Hardwood (it is singular, BTW, not hardwoods) we plan to expand our offerings of actual sets for sale that will be pictured on the website. Of particluar note is some of the nicest ziricote I have ever seen that is ready for immediate sale. I look forward to acting as a liason for the members of the OLF in sourcing some of the choicest lutherie woods available anywhere.

Welcome Hibdon! I have a set of your Ziricote that is just gorgeous. I'm just saving it for the right guitar. Nice to have you on board as a OLF sponsor.

Welcome!!! Say, are side sizes listed on your site somewhere, or does one need to email to find out specifics on a particular set they are interested in?

Bill

And welcome Hibdon Hardwood!

Jumbo sizes are minimum 5" x 32" for the sides and 8" x 22" for the backs. Some are wider. Unless the set is listed as a classical set, which is 7-3/8" x 20" minimum for the back and 4" x 30" minimum for the sides, you can assume it is a jumbo set. We usually draw an oversize "D" outline in chalk on the jumbo backs and an oversize classical outline on the classical backs.
