Well, almost... Still need to tweak the setup a bit.

EIR back and sides
Carpathian top
Hondo Mahogany neck
Bois D' Rose fretboard and bridge
FP finish

Still not staisfied with the finish, but it's better than #1. There's a few other warts, but even with the strings on it for only a couple of days, it already sounds better than my Collings!

Mark, youda man! WOW, what an awesome no 2 my Man!

Your finish looks neat from what i see but i hear you about the learning curve with FP, it is time consuming and hard to do for first timers but i'm sure you will figure it all out bud, keep building some very fine instruments!

Thanks Gang!

Pat - I built from both the Stewmac and LMI (Antes) plans. Used the Stewmac plans for templates, and tweaked them a little according to measurements on the Antes version.

I think one of the reasons it sounds so good is the Carpathian top. Plus, I was careful to shift the X-brace forward, and was pretty liberal with the scalloping. No popcicle brace either, which I think helps a lot...

Wow! Thanks for all the kind words!

Craig: The X-brace is 9 1/8 in. from the 14th fret, and the top is about .098 in thick. The Carp top was VERY stiff. I should mention also, that I had some fibers pull up from the binding tape (wasn't paying attention!), and had to sand a bit of the top away at the edges. Perhaps that was a "happy accident".

The real test will be when I take it to my next lesson with John Lowell. John has two Proulx dreads, so it will be interesting to compare!
