So I guess my previous post about my guitar being completed was a bit premature. I took some better pictures tonight. I hope you enjoy them. Again, this is no.2. EIR, Adi. top, flamed koa trim. Finish is FP. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In this next picture, I was attempting to capture the 'silk'. Could of used better lighting, I guess... ![]() |

Actually, this was probably the last 'bodying' session. I'll start on the glazing tomorrow... |

Beautiful FP job, Alain! It'll only get better with the glazing sessions. |

Outstanding work! How many hours have you invested in the finish? |

Thanks for your kind words guys!!! Kelby, if I count the pore filling, sanding and FP, it must be in the neighborood of 15 hours. I'd have to check my notes to be sure. I figure about another 5 should do it. |

I like these pictures -- it really shows off the finish. 20 hours total is pretty darn good for a finish that gorgeous. The Koa inlay just below the heel cap looks really nice -- great original touch. |

That is a great lookin' finish! Maybe you should set up secret messages in the reflection. I dig the inlay below the heel cap too. Mike |

Thanks a lot for your kind word guys! Anthony and Mike... I'll tell you a little secrect about the inlay below the heel cap... I was routing the overhang off the back one day and my 5 year old son was being his usual mischevious self... I just turned around one second to say, 'No Zak, don't touch that...' Next thing I knew, the bit was in the tenon pocket, my blood pressure had soared and I had forgotten all about Zak... What I meant to say is, 'Thanks guys, I planned it that way'... ![]() |

Wow! I can only hope and pray that my #2 (that I am working on now) can be anywhere near that good! Are you sure it's only #2? |
