What is the impact on tone, if there is any, between the regular triangular kerfing and the reverse kerfing? I assume the impact is minimal to nonexistent but you know what they say when you assume.

Never noticed any difference in tone when I switched to reverse kerf. It is so much easier and neater! Mark Kett makes some great linings if you don't want to make your own.

One thing I did notice is that they really stiffen up the sides.

Thanks for this question, it's one I was going to ask. I think the reverse kerfing looks so much cleaner inside the body. I like to build guitars that are not over ornamented but are very clean looking (this may change when I get better at making them ornamented!) I'd like to carry this over to the inside as well. I don't plan to make it myself, life's too short for that and for stuffing mushrooms! LMI carry it in mahogany and basswood.

OK so I didn't see Rob Bustos' posting till after I wrote this!Colin S38379.1805671296
