Wow, thanks everyone, I'll try to get a nice full frontal pic later on my deck!! O.K. details, details....This is a 25.4" scale length 000-13 fretter with Cocobolo B/S & a Lutz Spruce top(with cool figure). The body is approx. 3 3/4"(neck) & 4 5/8"(Tail) deep, a bit more than a typical 000(I think). The top is/was very light weight, stiff, and has/had a great tap-tone. I used Lacewood for the headstock veneer & the rosette. The top was double "X" braced but I kept it thick, at around .125, with a gentle thinning toward the edges. Cocobolo bridge and fretboard. I used KTM-9 for the finish, I still think it is too soft but it sure does buff out nicely. How does she sound....Careful not to sound too flowery and enthusiastic, all I can say is, to my ear it is fantastic.....seems to have no breaking point/ceiling, it just keeps getting louder the harder you hit it...and is very sweet and responsive with a light touch, it really turned out great. Hey Bill I live about an hour North of Atlanta, come on by and check it out! But bring some of yours as well. Greg |

beautiful greg. along with the others, i want to see a shot of the front if you've got one. i'm also wondering if i'm see a finger board that is dead flat - or is that just the angle that the pictures were taken from doing that? if it is a flat fingerboard, tell us how that affects playability. phil ps. the close up of the silk in the top is truly the kind of shot you need to be a builder to appreciate. i love it that you posted that. |

Really sweet, Greg. #2? Wow! I'm curious, too, about your flat fingerboard. A personal preference? |

Very sharp! Nice finish. You said that you were about an hour north of Atlanta. Are you in carpet country there. I'm in Knoxville, but drive to Atlanta several times each year. Maybe I could stop in and talk zoot sometime. Donovan |

Billy Dean- I thought the leaves on the deck added to shot, you know showed off the sheen on the geetar. You know the flat fingerboard was an interesting experiment, I think it was a Froggy Bottom guitar(I think?) I played a while back that had a flat board and I really liked it, so I decided to try it on this one, and yes, I really like it. Funny that most players seem to like it as well, even if they have played forever on a radiused board. Even so I'm going to radius my next one at 16" and see how that works out. Thanks so much everybody, getting compliments from this group of talented builders is very nice. Donovan, I'm actually a bit south and east of carpet country, over on the highway 400 side of town, but of course any time give me a shout, bring a guitar or two, we can talk zoot, I've got plenty. Larry, it is for me now, but I've had a lot of interest in it from others, so I'm afraid it will depart sooner or later....but for now I LOVE this guitar, it just sings to me. Greg |
