A standard Truss Rod is a bit too short for a bari, right? At 28 5/8" Scale length, it will be short on one end or the other, I think. Its better to have the truss rod short on the peghead end and have the pressure around the 2nd or 3rd fret rather than short on the body end right? Or is it bad in any case, and I just need to find the correct truss rod? -j. |

J, On my 29" scale bari's I use this gotoh 2-way truss-rod that fits just fine: ![]() I get them from Touchstone Tonewoods here in England. It's the item 9587 in the page I have linked. I use the 410mm one (which is the length without the adjustment nut). I think they export to the USA if you can't find something similar in the States. |

I am using the Allied Luth electric length rods in mine .. they would be a touch longer than what Dave shows, and it the adjustment nut hangs out of the neck block. |

LMI will make their truss rods to a custom length for you for no extra charge. It takes a bit longer, but I've been impressed with how quick they are. |

The consistently kind and helpful words of this forum never cease to amaze me. Thanks for your answers. VERY good to know about Allied and LMI. I'll be looking them up in a week or two. -j. |
