Well everyone, I just got back from my trip to the orthopedist... now I've seen my primary care physician, a neurologist, and an orthopedist. Sum total: bilateral ulnar neuropathy and bilateral shoulder bursitis. As for the pain in the joints of my hands, I'm still not sure it's not developing arthritis-- both my grandmothers had it and the one that played guitar was severely hindered in her playing by it. At least I know *what* is ailing me now... now it's time for high powered anti-inflammatories and physical therapy. I guess I better start doing some more research on those ergonomic wedge shaped instruments, huh? Maybe I can make it until I can build one someday... thanks for all the support everyone!

John C.

John,

Congrats on the new knowledge! It's good to have information, idn't it?

I thought I had arthritis, which was to be expected because of a bone disease that I have. After hearing about my sister's wheat allergy, I stopped it too. Tremendous improvement! I figured, it was an easy thing to quit for awhile, so I tried it, didn't have anything to lose. I don't know if I'll go as far as completely eliminating gluten, but I've cut back a lot and haven't felt this good in years.

Not saying it's your problem, but I keep hearing these miracle stories around cutting wheat, plus many "alternative" docs discuss it quite a bit. YMMV!

Pat, does your sister have Celiac disease? My son has Celiac and after we changed his diet, he really came around nicely. Celiac is an autoimmune disease caused by gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, rye and in some oats. I would be interested in finding out if you have a diagnosis, as it is actually surprisingly common.SteveCourtright38979.9492361111

John, I hope there is something you can do now that you know what is going on. Best wishes from me.
