Well, the boys and I traveled to Madison today to see Paul. I told them they'd be impressed to see what a real luthier can do to a guitar. We were all impressed with the stuff Paul showed us. Once again...his shop is meticulous and so well organized.

First, I got to see Paul's very cool vacuum setup and how he glues his braces. Very compact and efficient use of space as well. Then we got to play a few of his masterpieces. The boys commented on the uniqueness and but wedge skill. The sound was sweet and played like butter.

Paul gave me some needed advice on my latest...keep on refining the fit and finish issues! So I'm now definitely going to sand off most of the back and re-pore fill to make it totally smooth before continuing with bodying sessions.

Finally, I left Paul's with 2, five year old "scrapped" bodies that were covered in dust from the ages. I only hope I can make them come alive and sing one of these days in some way close to your standards!

Uh....Er... Just what is a "but wedge" and should we be looking at it? Seriously, I've never actually heard that term before.

I've already checked out Paul's site, Tres cool!

     I have a little differnce to part of his site though! In the, "What Makes a Woolson Unique", section, I really don't think there is much of a difference between his guitars and any other exremely well built and extraordinarily well finished guitar, now is there?

Cool! I suspect you'll do them justice. They could spawn a new wrestling move, too--the "Half-Woolson!"
