That looks really neat, Dave. I have a Rout-R Lift from Rockler that I've used extensively with a 3 hp Bosch for 5 years and it works extremely well. Ron |

It looks to me like something could accidentally hit those buttons and change the depth on you...down wouldn't be too horrible, but up... ![]() |

Dave that looks great. I have been looking at the woodpecker system but this looks awesome. Why don't you give us a full report when you get yours. Joe has a good point about that... I am sure they have thought about a solution... how do they prevent this from happening? |

I have wanted one of those for quite a while now... the next guitar I sell some of the money will be going to get me one of them... I looked at them at a trade show and was very impressed, but I had already committed to the rockler system by that time... -Paul- |

Joe, I don't think that the depth adjustment/router height is motorized. I think it is just a digital readout on a zero backlash mechanical lift. No worry about the height changing when hitting a button. Matt |

Matt is correct. The only thing that is new about this is the digital readout. Overall a good very solid router lift....the addition of the digital readout is a nice touch...not necessary but Im sure I would get pretty spoiled by it. By the way, that type of digital display is available from Woodcraft, Rockler and several other sources to retrofit onto planers and such. I have a 12 inch wide belt sander (instead of a thickness drum sander) that was John Monteleone's that I won at the 2003 Asia Symposium auction and it never had a good way to measure the outbound measurement of boards. I bought one of those digital rulers and mounted it on my sander and now can sand predictably down to the desired thickness for backs, sides and tops without having to use a caliper on each piece. I think I got it for $39.99 on sale at Woodcraft about 6 months ago and it was money well spent. To add that kind of readout to a router table would be nice to have. |
