I just bent some black limba sides into a venetian cutaway and had a *little* problem with splitting. I think its a very salvagable piece, though. I was wondering if you guys thin the cutaway section, and if so, how far? I thinned mine out to around 1.6 or 1.7mm, but it was slightly inconsistent and I ended up the the small split. TIA. -j. |

I usualy thin out the area to about .075, haven't made one in black limba however, I have no idea of how it bends. But .075 work well for rosewoods and maples for me. |

My sides are usually about 2mm and the cutaway portion I thin to 1.5mm |
