I wanted to let you guys know that the tools I got from Grizzly are working as good as they claimed. The dust collector 0440 is super . It can actually handle all the dust we can generate . It is in the shop so I do hear it as it is loud but not too bad . It will drown out ole Willie on the CD player . I can also say the 18 inch thickness sander takes up less space than the drum sander. The belts from Grizz are okay but I use the ones Bob Gleason of Pegasus guitars recommended to me , a ployester backed belt from Industrial Abrasives , I use a 36 grit to hog to about .060 within size and go to the final grits, It is digtal and the read out is perfect. I also got a new jointer as my old craftsman ( over 40 yrs olf ) went south . The 6 by 47 from Grizz was within .0005 , that is 1/5 a thou. That was right out of the box , and I have to say it works better than my Cman ever did. I thought you guys and Gals may like to hear about this . The tools were set up without any trouble though the instruction could have been translated better , I did get all set up and running in a reasonable amount of time. Stop in anytime and see us . Great to hear John! My two NEW Grizzly machines are coming together as we speak. The oscillating sander is killer and it up and running! The edge sander is waiting for the 220 to be piped to my shop, any time now.. |

Thanks John. That's good to know. Actually I should be ecstatic and making plans, but there is a moving looming on the horizon, so any and all editions to the shop are on hold. But I will be keeping this in mind come next Spring. Thanks for taking the time to report back to us. |

Sounds great John. Looking forward to seeing the new shop next May. My only advice... make sure you have that beer refrigerator on a separate circuit. That's an awful lot of new electrical amps being used up. |

You guys are killing me. Serious tool envy here. I still looking for that great deal on a PC laminate trimmer. I've got to make more money so I can get into the big league TAS. ![]() Donovan By the way, do you have to get matching (expense wise) gifts for spouses, or are they just that understanding of TAS, or do you just ask for forgiveness rather than permission? ![]() |

Donovan, Good points for sure, it is hard enough justifying the WAS situation and when you combine that with the TAS concept you could have problems. I spent years and still am accumulating tools, jig, forms and it is never ending. John did pick up some awesome stuff. Mike |
