K&K Pure Sound Installation Information and some Photo comparison I put up a webpage to help folks considering K&K systems. Basically, I like their systems that have external preamps. What that does is keep mods to the guitar to a bare minimum. They offer two preamps for the two entry level units. One is the PURE PREAMP, it is a single channel unit and has external Bass, Mid, Treble trims and a main volume knob. Also comes with a beltclip. The other is the TRINITY SYSTEM DUAL CHANNEL PREAMP, also with a beltclip. This unit controls the pickups plus an additional channel for the microphone. Depending on how you plug in the cords, you can select just the pickups, just the microphone, or a mix of both, or even two lines out with separate signal. Anyway, if you are interested in checking K&K Pure Sound Systems out, you can start at my page. You will also find links to PDF files showing detailed installation, manuals, or diagrams. |

Thanks for the info and good source Bruce. I am getting one from you as soon as I decide whether or not the big transducers will fit. John |

Bruce, a question: can you get all the trinity components (ie, the pickups + mics themselves) seperately from the Trinity Pre-amp? ie, so you can use the same preamp for several guitars. |

Mattia, that is a great question and makes a lot of sense. And the answer is "I don't Know, right now." It may be Monday but I'll let you know as soon as I can get an answer myself. I see no reason they wouldn't sell just the internal Trinity system. That would make it much more affordable to do subsequent guitars. Great thinking, Mattia. John, I had to study their offerings and felt pictures would be a good thing. I'm also asking them to provide CD takes of the systems in use for my customers. Seems you can only download the clips from their webites. I liked being able to hear before buying, but 56K means selective downloading at best. And forget digital video, I don't even think about that. Answer was on the K&K site: Trinity Solo (mic/pickup unit, cable, no preamp): Important: The Trinity microphone needs appropriate 5-9 volt lavalier mic power. A suitable existing preamp and a stereo cable is needed. Retail Price: $205, 20% Discount gives Your Price of $164. The stereo cable and Preamp of course you would have with the first system. Great question. |
