The superstition of Friday the 13th essentially began today 599 years ago today.

On October 13th, 1307 pope Clement V and the king of France arrested and laid seige to the French order of the Knights Templar (largely to steal their property and ruin their influence across Europe). Many were arrested and ultimately burned at the stake for heresy. So... the date has lived on as an unlucky day.

Just thought that was an interesting little factoid worth sharing.

Cool Brock, I love that sort of trivia. I was born on Friday the 13th and my mom had just seen Rosemary's Baby in the theater. She tried to get the doctor to push my birth back a day because she was terrified. If you look at the cover of the GAL issue with the group shot the small M in the title is directly over my head like horns hmmmmmm...

"Friday the 13th came on Friday this month---very bad". Pogo thought every month had a Friday the 13th, but when it came on a Friday it was worse.
