Well after seeing Hesh's Peace Guitar, I fell in love with flamed redwood
tops and that gorgeous guitar. Hopefully copying is taken as flattery.
So a while back I bought some mightly fine Zoot from the Zootman.
2 sets from the same tree.   I have just begun working on the redwood
top.

This guitar is going to be a 20th Anniv. present from a friend for his wife.
The plan is an OM flamed redwood top with cocobolo backs and sides.
Since this is going to be a womens guitar I decided to go with a more
feminine top. It is White and gold MOP with cocobolo dust filling the
gaps. Still need a lot of clean up. I want understated elegance with this
one. Simple Ebony binding.

I am thinking of waiting to thickness and brace the top until after E
Somogyis course in February
Thanks Hesh for the inspiration

Wow! That is gonna be sweet! I've always wanted a redwood/cocobolo but
my instructor said he'd never work with it again. Said he had a lot of
trouble gluing the cocobolo. Guess I'll have to build one for myself after I
tackle this port orford cedar/walnut project I have going.

I've heard it's oily. Is there a glue you prefer for cocobolo?

I'm a big fan of redwood myself. Here's my main guitar for gigging these
days.

It's redwood/EIR built by my instructor Robert Sayers. It's an OM but has
the depth of a dred. Just a wonderful instrument either flatpicked or
fingerstyle.

I'm sure your friends wife will be most pleased.

That is going to be a killer guitar Doc! Right on!

I too have a set from the zootman just like that one... Can't wait to try and turn it into a gitter...

Keep us posted about the guitar AND your pilgrimage to the MASTER...

I will keep you up to date on this one. It is actually not the one under
construction now. I just felt like inlaying the rosette. I want to delay bracing
and thicknessing until E. Somogy's course. Serge, She is in for a treat
especially since it is a surprise 20th Wedding anniv. present.

I have a cocobolo/Lutz OM that should be ready next week.
An all Koa OM is just begining its urethane stage.

The current build is a Lutz/Camatillo Rosewood OM

Hesh....Well, how many??????
#13 is the cocobolo/Lutz OM that should be done next week.
It is about quality not quantity. I build in blocks of time. Sometimes I don't
touch a guitar for weeks and then sometimes I will build 3-4 straight days.
