Well, let me make a short story long...

I have a commission starting any day for a real nice guy.... sad story.... the guitar will be to play mostly at church and also to honor a late child He's holding on pretty strong thanks to his strong relationship to God, his wife and his other 2 lovely children.
I'll be adding a few options at no charge and try to build a special guitar for him considering all he went through. A friend of mine lost a 2 year old in a pool 3 years ago.... I know how devasted he felt and how it can be for a family.

Well, he only wanted a sitka and mahogany guitar to keep the cost down but I promised I'd upgrade his back and sides to Tasmanian Blackwood since I bought that HUGE butress plank from the group buy that Shane is slicing up for me.

Thats where the problem lays... Shane told me the wood is still far from beeing usable and I need to get this guitar started in November!!

Thus my asking.... anybody have a nice uneeded set of Blackwood to trade? Fiddleback or Buttress would be fine.... high figure preferrably. For a Grand Auditorium...

I would even be willing to trade 1 set of usable back/sides for 1 or even 2 sets of my unseasoned Buttress blackwood.    or....any suggestions?

Thanks

I've got a nice set of fiddleback tassy blackwood that I'd let go for a worthy cause. If it doesn't work out with the other guys let me know and I'll look after you.PaulB39014.8255324074

Thanks to all that offered to help!

Don Williams offered to swap with a set from his personal stash! My customer has seen the picture and loved it!

Thanks again for everybody's kindness and willingness to help! peterm39015.5520138889

That sounds like a really great project. I had my wife read the posts to let her see the character of this group. Everyone wants to help with the special situation. Be sure to show pics of the progress. God Bless your efforts.
