I'm just finishing up the Woolson/Fox Neck Tenon Jig and I can't locate a few of what's turned out to be rare parts. Since I already drilled the 1/2" holes I'm kinda committed to the size.

I was hoping someone might know of a source where I can get the following:

...One 1/2"-13 Teenut
...Two 1/2"-13 Handnuts

TIA

McMaster Carr has 1/2" tee nuts as well as 1/2" thumb screws.

But what is a hand nut? just a thumb screw like these

These are from Lee Valley, but they don't have 1/2" sizes.

There's a McMaster Carr in Elmhurst, have no idea if that is close to you at all though.Rod True39029.7794791667

If you have a Woodcraft store nearby you can find something that works. I don't think I found the exact size, but something close enough. And the part labeled "U" in Rod's post is the part you want.

JJ,

1/2" t-nuts do not fit into 1/2" holes. The O D of the nut is larger. You can probably fit a 3/8 into a 1/2 hole or you will have to drill out the nut hole to 9/16 to 5/8 depending on the manufacture.

Correction...the holes are in fact 5/8" per Michael's plans. Good catch, Dean!
