Yes, my American brethren, it's your turn today to vote... I know Paul Woolson started a thread regarding this very subject but I thought I would just throw in my two cents worth...

As Al Capone once said, 'Vote early and vote often!'...

I hope there is a large turn out. I know that in Australia, you have to vote. I'm not sure what the penalty is if you don't, but there are concequences to not voting! I think all countries should be like that...

Best wishes,

Al

And for anyone from Ontario don't forget that Next monday (the 13th) is Municipal election day here. Big interest for me of course as I am running for Mayor and we are haveing a real exciting (unfortunately cut throat as well Race here) Last Thursday we had our all candidates debate and we had more people out for the debate than the total number that voted in the last election. Unfortunately I am not getting a lot of building done at the presernt time.

Yep, did my duty. Hey, Richard, good luck next week. If I ever make up there you can give me the key to the city.

We get fined $75 if we don't vote and don't have a reasonable excuse.

Paul, it's 75$, eh? Thanks for the info...

That's why the vote turn-out is over 90%...

Done!

Used absentee, so I could get my kids, 6 and 10, into the process. They were excited about it. I figure it will mean at least more two more voters when they turn 18!

Pat that is a VERY cool idea to let your kids participate in the process. This will help the act of voting be more of an "event" to them in the future AND they will think of positve memories with their pop too!    [/QUOTE]
As long as those we elected don't blow it!

I hope for their sake that those E-vote machines will be eliminated though.
