I've been bending some Koa binding with bwb side purfling made from LMI's fiber sheets. I'm using a blanket at the same setting I use to bend sides. The white fiber purfling is scorching in some places, so badly that it just looks back. So I'm planning to reduce the heat a bit. Can anyone offer some wisdom on bending with fiber purfling? What heat do you use?

Kelby, probably too late for this, but I never bend the b/w/b (fiber) purflings, I just add them at binding time

You might give that a try?

Lance, thanks for the suggestion. I could still try that (I have more binding and fiber material). However, I'm concerned that between the bwb side purfling as well as a bwb purfling on the top, I might have difficulty manipulating six pieces of purfling and one piece of binding at one time. Is it less difficult than I am imagining?
