Is it possible to change the format of the polls at all? Or are we stuck with what the bbs software gives us?

I was thinking that if, for example, with the current favorite top/back & sides polls, there were another column of buttons next to the 'vote' column, that you could check to say whether you'd used that particular wood, the data would be more valid statically, and we could get some great information out of it. As in; of the x number of guitarmakers who'd used both EIR and Koa, y% prefered...

It would also be good if people could say how many guitars they had built total, so that the people like me who have built only one, could be filtered out.

See what 2 semesters of statistics does to a person.

Cheers,

Paul

Yeah, and we could see if 96% of our data falls within two standard deviations.. What fun.

I am not fond of the words "stuck with"... but my hide is thick.

I think the polling feature is just a very simple tool added to a discussion board. It is casual and fun - not scientific in any way. It could be improved to have lots of bells and whistles, but IMHO I don't see that as the biggest bang for our effort.

Um, oops. No offence intended, this software is much nicer than some other forums I could name. I didn't know if it'd be a simple tweak, or a whole lot of work. Hard to justify if it's a big job.

Cheers,

Paul
