I'm humbled by the beautiful guitars posted by this forum's members but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the many people who have helped me get to this point. Without the help of the people here I would never have gotten even close. Here are some progress pics after about three coats of clear Nitro. This was my first attempt at guitar building. I picked up a beat up broken guitar for a few dollars that had been can spray painted blue. I striped the paint down to the wood, filled the dents and dings and applied a mahogoney veneer. I then sprayed some black and clear nitro in a sunburst attempt |

Now that the "guitar building bug" has bitten You, nothing will ever be the same. WAS, TAS, GAS, etc. Keep it up. Al |

For some reason Putting a Koa cavity cover on it popped inta me ed. Might have to put a pickguard on the pickguard though. Are you going to use shielding tape or paint? Are you going to gloss it up ? I like a satin look but thats me. |

Nice looking body so far. Kind of an ugly neck, though ![]() -j. |

Nice work. I do not keep rope in my shop, I used to moonlight as an sailor, but was let go because I couldn't tie a knot. Now what I do now is drill a hole in the neck "handle" and hang the guitar in progress from a nail in the ceiling joists. |

Thank you all for the kind words and inspiration. Its amazing how much I already learned. I'm toying around with adding some inlays to the neck but not sure how difficult that would be. I'm not sure what is going to be more difficult. waiting for the finish to cure or trying to decide what to do for #2 ![]() |
