I finally finished my Jumbo 12 string! It's patterned after a Taylor which I've always admired, with a few modifications. Sitka top with ladder brace, .140 Thick. Ovangkol B&S Mahogany Neck double lam maple Polished ebony bridge, standard pins. Bound Ebony FB Farmed out the FB MOP inlays didn't feel up to that yet. 25?" scale, 14 fret Full gloss nitro Spalted myrtle rosette, black fiber border WBW binding Gotoh mini tuners EIR Headstock veneer I've built and worked electrics and furniture so I've had some experience, but this is my first acoustic. I'm glad I can show I can build instead of just making dumb jokes. Some of you guys were probably wondering! ![]() ![]() ![]() It doesn't fit my case because I made it a touch larger but it plays great. I was concerned about standard bracing with a 12 so I decided to give the ladder brace a shot and make the top a little thicker. I wanted to thank both Serge, and especially Hesh. In spite of Hesh being the brunt of my Photoshop "goofing around" he really stepped up to the plate to help with a few minor problems with the prints. Thanks Buddy, your generous advice made me feel bad I turned you into a chick! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks to everybody on the OLF for the inspiration. It's a little tight but Hesh assured it would open up in time. Any suggestions or questions would be greatly appreciated! |

Nice Billy, Very nice indeed, but if I may suggest, the upper neck support could do with a rotational tweak in a clockwise direction, other that that my friend, perfection ![]() Cheers Kim |

Thinking outside the box and i admire you for that Billy, what i see there is the reflect of the very subtle and very bright and intelligent person that you are my brother, excellent craftmanship! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And i think i can see why you would turn the box the other way around, as sort of an experiment for sound right? Love the shape! Hooked for the rest of your life huh? ![]() What's next bro? |

Actually its a custom build for a lefty who likes to play righty every once and a while .. makes him feel more at home, as he doesnt have to flip the guitar over !!!! |
