I know its important for the finish to fully cure but does that mean to wait 4 weeks before final sanding (i.e. 800, 1500 2000 grit) or wait 4 weeks before buffing? Thanks! |

You should wait about 3 weeks before the final level sanding and then buff. |

Turbo, it depends on what finish you are using and the conditions (i.e. weather, temperature, RH) For water based finishes I like to let mine cure for 5-6 weeks before level sanding and buffing as the water finishes don't cure hard enough is just 3-4 weeks. |

Like others have said, it all depends on the finish, RH and temp. If you have a good noise you can give it the sniff test. Any odor at all and it is not dry! |

Turbo, all great advice you have received so far, i found it hard to wait 2 weeks in september but it was worth it and when i'll get there again, i now have o\my mandolin projects to help me get over the urge to touch my guitar too soon, 3 weeks minimum but 4-6 weeks must be excellent. |
