Many of you may know Marc Durso, from the 13th Fret. Mark recently severely injured his arm in an accident and was without medical insurance. A small group of luthiers organized a collaborative effort and donated parts for a world class guitar kit that is being auctioned off on ebay right now. Here is the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=3780 406273&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

If you ever wanted to try your hand at building a guitar from a kit here is a great opportunity to own the finest kit ever amassed. Besides, it's also a great way to come to the aid of a talented guitar player who has hit a pot hole in the road of life. Thanks for looking…

Tim went to a lot of effort to get this kit put together. Lets either bid or get out the word about the auction. Here is a click through link to the auction.

Can't believe the two Don's posted at almost the same time Don A38387.8963310185

Really nice job Tim, and the bidding is great already, glad you did a ten day auction. This may well exceed the Tsunami Auction. Anyway, thanks Tim we appreciate you!

Not 1/2 as much as I appreciate you folks. I couldn't have pulled this off without the generous contributions and help from the greatest bunch of builders in the world, found right here on the OLF! Thanks again guys!

Dave, let it go. There are some here (me) that consider SKB cases not only junk, but overpriced junk. But I don't want to go down that road. The case does not make the guitar.

Paul,
I was being a little sarcastic. Perhaps at the wrong time or on the wrong thread. For the record, I don't like or use SKB's for my guitars either. I have sold them with some electrics...but not mine. Just wanted to clarify...A good guitar deserves a good case. Also, your opinion of SKB's is most welcome...as it should be.

Very well and good Dave. Sarcasm is usually good. I say "usually" because when used on a forum type situation where people can't see the expression on your face, it can be taken wrong. Coming from someone that doesn't know you personally, the other thread came across as you being a bully and picking on Bruce for the choices he makes. He's entitled to his opion as are you as am I. Everyone is here.
Let's let it go at that. Best wishes, Paul

The auction has ended and the final selling price was $810.00. Thanks again to all of the folks who donated items and bid on the auction. This was a great success and I thank you for all of the your support shown to Marc.

Thanks to our fearless leader too, Tim McKnight, who did most of the hard work. Congratulations on a successful auction, Marc will know there are some great folks out there who wish him well even in his difficult time.

Tim, I kept following the auction and was really happy to see the price finally jump past the $660 mark. Your are to be commended for your effort to put this kit together as well as supporting a friend. Major kudos.
