Every once in a while, this happens to me. I'm in a specific post, and I'm leaving the forum (sutting down the browser) and I hit the back button before closing the browser (red X). Well, because the browser wants to go back to the last page it will open up like 60-80 browser windows, cascading over and over and over...... Crazy computers. "Internet! Is that thing still around?" Homer Simpson. |

I've had that happen to me as well Rod... Not recently but it has happened in the past. No idea what causes it though... |

The red X is not to close the browser. It is to abort the current action. |

Rod, out of curiosity, have you ever dropped some drinks on your keyboard? Could be that you'd have a key that stays stuck and provokes this? |

No, I know exactly when this happens and I can now make it happen at will. Here is how it happens. Press the back button, than before the screen changes, press the red X in the top right corner. Presto, you have just started the cascading windows and about 60+ windows should open up. Try it, you'll like it ![]() Alain, I don't really speak computer that good, can you give us more. I always thought that it just closed the window, program etc.... |

It doesn't work for me. I feel left out. There are 2 X's. One is Red with a white background that resides next to the refresh button(Green arrows going in a circle) The other one is the one Rod is talking about (White X with a red background in the top right corner). That is for closing the browser. ![]() |

Oh, I'm color blind I guess. Yes Graham is correct, the white X with red background (closes the window down). If I use the click the back button on my mouse (less mouse movments) than go shut down the window, the computer will try to open up the browser page which I initially wanted to go back to. So, If I'm on the OLF (95% of the browsing time) click back than the brain thinks "just go to bed you bozo" than I close down the browser, Bingo. Strange. This isn't a viral thing, just a Microsoft glitch or maybe it's a Logitech (mouse and keyboard) glitch. |
