Hey Mike... we've been curious about your classical build (specially me since I'm building my first too!), so any progress?

Well I am just about to get started on it I have been waiting on a few things. First Andy DePaule has been making some hummingbirds for me to inlay in the rosette. These are tiny but made up of 10 different pieces of abalone, bronze mop. red coral (recon), white mop and gold mop. They are done and should be here this week. I have been allowing the wood to acclumate, I have the neck rough carved, I have been designing the bracing layout and have fabricated the bridge. I have also made the fretboard and slotted it. Next week the fabrication will start in earnest. In the mean time I took a OM body I have had hanging around for a bout a year and a LMI pre carved neck That has also been sitting in the shop for a bout two years and made a student series "Plain Jain" and gave it to one of my co-workers to give to his daughter for Christmas. She is 15 now and has been playing for three years. I taught her for the first six months then She began under a real teacher. Her parents don't have much, but her father came to me and asked me to commission a guitar. I new he could not afford even on of my Student models. So I told him I was way booked. I was but that was not the reason I did not take the order. I knew I had this body and neck hanging around and decided to give it to them. I walked into work Friday and called him into my office and presented it to him. I also gave him my last TKL 3 ply case. The Smile and thank you paid for it MichaelP39060.9906712963
