We would like to re-Welcome John Watkins as an OLF sponsor. He recently engaged the OLF in the highest level of support we offer (underwriter). Thank you again John for your continued support to our forum and our members.

Kudos bro.    Brock Poling39064.4061805556

Thanks, Brock. I'd like to use this opportunity to shamelessly plug the new "bargain basement" area of my web site.

I posted 42 discounted necks out there this morning. Check it out here or go to the home page at www.cncguitarparts.com. Brock Poling39064.4064351852

John, I have a question for you. I see your set necks for an LP. Do you
make any other necks? Like... A neck that could serve as the starting
point for an archtop or ES-175 type electric? Brock Poling39064.4075

Thanks a bunch, guys. I owe a big chunk of my living to the membership here and people who've been referred to me by my friends here and I appreciate that a great deal.

No plans to offer any files, sorry.

James, I'll make any kind of neck on the fully custom side of things, but for off the rack necks, it's just the acoustic ones for now. Those LP necks were extras from a custom run.Brock Poling39064.4079050926

Hi John,
I want to buy W31 and W18. Just want to make sure they're all set up with
inserts as I will also be buying the neckblock, hardware and fretboard.

Thanks, couldn't have come at a better time as I was just getting ready to
order two necks from you. I wish I could afford more of these bargains but
not during the holidays for me.

Chris, they all have the inserts unless the description states otherwise. Thanks.

Thanks John,

Just one more question:
How does a 1.68 neck work for a 1 3/4 nut width?
Wouldn't the fingerboard be wider than the neck or do you just sand the
fretboard slightly to match the nut width of the neck?
I will be placing my order as soon as I feel confident in having success.

Thanks again,
Chris

You would just blend them together via sanding or whatever means. In fact, if you look at the back of any decent guitar's neck, you'll see that both sides of the fingerboard are visible. That's because the arc of the neck shaft starts at the top of the fingerboard, not the top of the neck. One could argue that every 1.75" nut width on a completed instrument has an underlying neck of about 1/16" less, or 1.6875". Brock Poling39064.40875

Hello again,
Just sent you a message thru your site. Both the necks I was interested in
are marked as not available. Just wanted to see if you had set them aside
per my forum post or if they are indeed gone.

Thanks ChrisBrock Poling39064.4096990741

Chris (and everyone), disregard any inventory related messages on the site. You can check out regardless of what it says. Since these necks all have a quantity of 1, I didn't bother cataloging quantities.

Hesh, thanks. I was looking for exactly that image and couldn't find it right off. A picture says a thousand words, eh?Brock Poling39064.4092013889

Hesh,
Thanks for the diagram, makes absolute perfect sense to me now.
Sometimes a visual is worth so much more than words can convey.

John,
I'll be with you shortly... Brock Poling39064.4094328704

I ordered a neck from John about two weeks ago and cannot wait for it to
get here. His prices are unbelievable for what's being offered. A
laminated neck with inserts? With a set of specs that I can specify? For
$100?! Yes please.Brock Poling39064.4099305556

If you are curious to why I edited every post in this thread it is because I spelled WatKins wrong in the first post and it got copied a bunch of times.

I changed it so we can find this easily when it hits the archive.

Sorry about that.

Tis comforting to know that we have Johnny Watkins there as an underwriter to the OLF. But then again it has been my experience that John is always first to step forward to stick his neck out for us

Thanks, Kim.

Everybody, there are still a bunch of these necks left and I'm sick of moving them around and tripping over them (), so to move them out, I'm taking 20% off of the existing prices. Also, anything else you buy on that same order is also 20% off. So, if you were on the fence about lining clamps, or fingerboards, or whatever, this is a great opportunity to save some bucks.

This offer expires at a random time when I'm pretty sure everyone from here has gotten a chance to see it.

Just enter "OLF" in the promotion code box at checkout to receive the discount.

Thanks!

I just couldn't resist, had to order another neck so I'm at least committed to
three more builds...maybe I should just be committed
