From 1/4 - 1/20 we will be conducting an online educational opportunity with Ervin Somogyi. There has been a lot of interest and inquiry regarding Ervin's methods, his approach to guitar building, and his voicing class. This session will attempt to give you a glimpse into his thinking and provide you with the materials necessary to make a decision with respect to your attendence in the class. You might be asking "So, is this this just a sales pitch for the class?" The answer is 'Yes' ... and 'No.' First, let me say that the OLF is not receiving any compensation for this. We have invited Ervin to participate because we believe that the material presented and his course offers a unique opportunity for each of us to rapidly advance our building careers. The material presented here will be quite comprehensive, but it certainly is not a replacement for the week long class. Several OLFers (me, Tim McKnight, Dave Bland, others?) have been to Ervin's class and any of us can tell you what that week has done for our guitar building. It is nothing short of phenomonal. We recognize that not everyone can attend due to finances or logistics and this is an opportunity for you to get a glimpse inside his methods as well. Maybe if this class doesn't fit your schedule or your finances another might.... but I must tell you, what you get from this class far exceeds the cost and the efforts of travel. It is our sincere hope that you will choose to take Ervin's class -- both to support a true master of our craft, and to advance your own building. If you do register for the class PLEASE tell Ervin that you heard about it via the OLF. ****** ***** *** And... while I HATE to even mention this, I think it goes without saying that we expect everyone to refrain from some of the antics that have occured in the past. Ervin is an undisputed master of this craft and we expect that everyone here will show him the highest courtesy. Bad behavior and "heckling" will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to edit or delete any comments we don't believe contribute to the overall message of this discussion. *** ***** ******* |
