My new Macbook Pro 610 arrived this morning. Unknown to me, my Kids, Home on vacation, began playing with it. Also unknown to me, my daughter signed up on the autoconfig screen ( the initial "sign-you-up" registration screens) as "sponge bob". How do I go back and properly register as owner and configure my interenet connections and put in the other info as well. I guess what I am saying is how do I re-run that intial registration program?
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

I don't know if you need to go through all those steps for registration.
When I've needed support, they just went by the serial #. But if you want
to start fresh:

Only way I know is to re-install the OS, which is quite painless in my
experience. Takes less than an hour, mostly hands-off.

Put in the Install DVD, open and click Install Mac OS X. It will
reboot from the DVD and lead you through it.

After the reboot when the installer starts up, it will come to a screen that
allows you to select your hard drive (Macintosh HD). You select that hard
drive then use the Options button at the bottom of the window to do
"Erase and Install".

After doing that, the next time you boot, you'll go through all the steps as
if you'd gotten your mitts on it before your kids did .

I think Pat is right. The only way I know of is to reinstall.

It's true, you can create a new user with admin rights, then delete sponge
bob, but it won't take you through the registration sequence again. I've
heard of a way to do it without reinstalling, but the reinstall is simple,
painless and a sure thing. But again, I don't think there's much value in the
registration process. All it appears to do is get your name and email address
into a database, which Apple doesn't seem to pay any attention to for
support, at least from what I've seen.

Dave, if you decide not to reinstall, you can do as above and give the
computer a new network name at System Preferences/Sharing.burbank39070.6426967593
