I am with you on the Lutz Hesh, it is simply beautiful stuff and the tap really does ring out loud and clear. I ordered a few sets from Shane in early September and requested that he send them surface mail because I like to toucher myself.

Well Saint Nic Neifer from High Mountain Tonewood came good for me today, the very last delivery day before Xmas, and I could not be more happy My pressy was very well packaged, as you would expect from a vendor who carries such pride in his product.

When I examined the content I found each set displaying more silk than Santa's sleigh. The grain count is so high that it is much easier to just say it is very fine and even, rather than struggle through any attempt to count it, and a beautiful unblemished soft cream colour extends right across the plates.

Thank you so much Saint Nic Neifer for the wonderful wood, you looked after me like a brother and I really do appreciate that my friend. My only complaint is, now I have gone and opened this parcel before Xmas, anything else that the real Santa brings me is probably going to be an anti-climax.

Cheers Shane and Merry Xmas to all.

Kim

All right that does it, I want some!

But I don't like sleeping with the dogs, so its going to have to wait until I start getting a paycheck again. The new job pays once a month, as opposed to twice a month. And if I spend any money on my obsession before things start flowing again, it will get ugly around here.

Kim, I'm not sure if you got lucky or not. My Sweetie didn't know what to get me for Christmas, so told me to order a back and side set. To which I went running over to Don's site to take advantage of his OLF sale. After much drooling I picked out a set and asked Don politely if that set in the window was still for sale. It wasn't, but he had another that was a sister to the set I so liked, would I be interested? Well, of course I was. A few days later I receive a PM from Don saying that as he was packing the wood up he discovered that it was too thin for his tastes, would I mind terribly if he upgraded me? You know what my answer was. He described the set, but did not send pictures. Wonderful, it will be a surprise and I know Don is going to take care of me. Yipee!

The box arrived while I was working out of town. So it fell into the hands of my Sweetie. I have not seen hide nor hair of it since, and I have looked. Come on, wouldn't you? There is zoot in the house that has your name on it and you wouldn't go looking for it? Please. After poking around for a couple of days I was informed that it was being held by a friend, just so I wouldn't spoil my Christmas. What can I say? Sweetie knows me all too well.

Hey Hesh,

You'll have to buy more than 2 if you want to keep ahead of George Lowden At least you can say that you used it before George

Shane's wood is incredible and his attention to detail never ceases to amaze me.Dave White39073.7535648148

GREAT NEWS!!! I am so glad that they arrived, especially yours Kim, man that was a long wait! Hesh, if it rings like a Chinese Gong are we going to see some chinese characters inlaid in the guitar built from one of those sets?.....Dave, the attention to detail only starts when you guys put the tools to this wood, I am as excited to see what comes of these sets as you all are! But, I am about to put the doors onto my new bench cabinet and start the top and vises tonight so I will soon be making guitars and other stringed thingys in a meaningful way as well.....

Merry Christmas everyone!! Here is hoping for a Peaceful 2007!!!

Shane

Rod, I'm not sure I should pass a long your observation.    5 weeks is a long time to wait for something that you are dying to get your hands on and you know its around here somewhere if you just think a bit more creatively.

You are right of course, but I do think I will just not encourage this behavior if you don't mind.

Good for you Hesh. I would love to hear a file of that black beauty to posted earlier. I'm wondering now if the qulaity of Shane's lutz on my second build isn't covering up some of my building shortcomings? Clinton

Thanks Todd. That's what I thought you were talking about, but didn't want to assume.
