Well guys, after the "where's the peak?" thread I thought I'd start this one up. We all know it's important that the neck and the extension area of the top line up nicely to create a nice smooth bed for the fretboard, but do you have a specific method for ensuring this happens?
I've been taught a procedure that involves flattening the top when it's sat on the rims to work out the curvature required on the top braces to make everything level.
(when I'm up to this point in a build next, I'll document it). But for now. What do you guys do?

Dome top, all braces, to 25', flatten the area above the soundhole by sanding, as described in Lace's tutorial linked up top the main forum pages (I think it's Lance's, anyway). I'm considering leaving the upper transverse flat next time, doing the rest as normal, but I'm still undecided.

I don't glue the extension to the top, never saw the point of that on a bolt on, I glue the fretboard extension to an extension of the neck and rout a pocket in the top and neck block for the neck extension. This way the fretboard is attached to the same piece of wood along its entire length so can't develop a ridge. If I have to sand a small part of the top to get a flush fit I do but normally the 25' radius puts me right on the money.
