Just finished my First Guitar, Merry Christmas, Bruce

Thanks to the hosts of the OLF, and to all our wonderful sponsors. Merry Christmas to one and all.
I had a great five months in the shop. Got a lot of work done and plans laid for this coming year. May each of you have a wonderful holiday whatever your persuasion. bd

I don't have any files with it completed, just when it was in the white. I strung this up with lights and it really has a great sound with the Scalloped bracing and special mods.

I highly recommend to anyone wanting to play a guitar they made, wait unti the finish is on. What a pain in three ways. 1. Getting finish around the bridge is nigh impossible. 2. Handling a guitar with the neck on is a pain during the finishing process. 3. Buffing around a neck/body join is nearly impossible.

Absoutly lovely but not really your first is it - because if it is I am going to shoot myself right now.

Your work looks flawless !!!

Yes, my first guitar, it's been in the closet since 1999, a Martin Kit. I'm totally amazed at the level of builders here on the OLF.

It's just like anything else, do your homework, practice, and don't let anyone see you sweat. Building guitars is a breeze.

Now I understand about it being your first - but just the same that is one heck of a first. You da man Bruce. Many talented people on this forum. Me, I am like Thomas Edison - I know 1,000 ways that don't work but I am getting closer all the time.

Gorgeous work Bruce. It may be a kit, but it takes talent to make it turn out that nice....now let's see some more of what you've been working on the last five months!

Thanks all. I really appreciate the kind comments.

The hole, aw shucks, that's from an accidental gunshot.

It's a peephole so folk can tell marquetry isn't a decal.

That guitar's had a longer gestation than a Blue Whale calf! But like the whale, well worth the wait. Nice to hear from you Bruce, doesn't happen often enough!
