hey, i bought this thing with a broken neck years ago, and now i wanna fix and sell it. i have no experience with res-os. wanted to play one for a while, and see what's inside. regal biscuit bridge steel bod. boy, these regals are really built well . i wounder if nationals are the same quality inside, probably not. neck doesnt line up with the bridge (from the top), different sized screws all over ( guess these'll do!), and glue holding some of the supports in place. anyway, i wrangled the neck out (pretty easy), and glued the little heal piece on ( clean break), and now, my question is this... the major break is about 3/4 up from the heal cap, and i can flex the break open. i wanted to break it off cleanly, to get a good glue joint there. kinda stubborn, and all i want to do now is open it up and get enough glue in there. never happen with tight-bond. so, i was going to flood it with ca, and kicker that, then clamp it. think the ca is strong enough? mahog neck. |

If you break it all the way, clamping can be an issue. I try to open the crack as much as I can then use a clarinet or sax reed (very thin, strong tip) to push the Titebond down into the opening then clamp. Michael |
