Hi again all,

I have posted a new video of my new machine, which is about 98% done....need to design a dust hood for it, and then start making wood chips!!

Video is here:

What do you all think?

omg CY that is frigging SWEEETTT!!!! oh yeah! Man that thing hauls some booty across the table. I can only hope that my next upgrade will get me closer to those kind of speeds. WOW!

Enjoy making the chips fly. :)

I'm learning my G Code. Now I've started to learn subroutines, sure is a time saver for code. :)

I managed to get a Tele body profile laid out today. hehe!

Good luck, and keep the cool videos coming.

Hello CyborgCnc,
quick 2 questions.

What size Ball screws and # of starts are you using?
and also what screen set are you using in Mach, I really like that set?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Hi Mike,

the screen set is here:

http://www.machsupport.com/screens.php

Called "blue screen set" when you scroll down....

My screws are 15mm in diameter, with a 5mm pitch...they are "ballscrews" using zero backlash nuts.....not sure about the starts?

If you table (say for the x) is going to be longer than about 42 inches or so, then I would use 20mm diameter screws...as this is just about the limit length for 15mm, since longer runs, will tend to make the screw "whip"

Thanks Cy,

I'll get the screen set, as far as the ballscrews I understand whip. :) My 48" 1/2" lead screw whips very bad when over 35IPM. I'm thinking about going with a 3/4"-200 for the X and 5/8-200 for the Y and Z ballscrews.

BTW have a Great Thanksgiving.

Spiro,

Great looking machine. So simple, so efficient, so rigid, so..... familiar!

Hope it's working out great for you.
