Here is my second attempt at making a neck on the bot.
The first worked out fine, i just forgot to take pictures.
I do need to clean up my referencing as I flip the neck to do each side. I do it this way because I don't have enough Z travel to just clamp the thing face down.
My goal is to make a slightly oversized blank that I can custom shape quickly with the pneumatic drum sander. I think I am just about there as this cleans up real fast and has just enough meat for me to make adjustments as the customer wants.

Why did you choose to mount it on "it's edge" for machining the neck, versus mounting it flat (fretboard side down)?

I think mounting it the other way, would be easier to machine, and also, cut down on a lot of the "air cutting"....

What is your Z travel?
Nice to see an acoustic neck CNC video. I have seen dozens of video's on electric necks but very few acoustics.

I did it this way as I don't have a lot of Z motion and I don't have a long bit either. The air cutting is due to the software I use (the stuff that came with the machine), it doesn't allow anything but a block shape to start with or at least I haven't figured out how to tell it what the starting shape is other than that. It is a fairly simple tool pathing program and I don't care to take the learning curve on for something more complicated right now.
