I recently switch jobs and in the process had to give up my Camworks software. In my new position I have access to GibbsCam which at first shot I find less than impressive. I am hoping that this is just a funciton of my lack of knowledge of the software. Any others use GibbsCam? How does it stack up to other software packages? What does it do well? What is it missing? |

I haven't used it myself, but FWIW one of the bigger machine shops here (>100 employees) switched to Gibbs because MasterCAM was 'too hard' for their programmers and Gibbs was 'still good enough'. That's not the kind of reason I want to hear from a shop throwing away a 15K investment in one software to switch to another! |

It seems like from messing around with it that it works ok but has many less options than I am used too. Easier does not always mean better! |
