I want to construct a universal binding jig like the one at LMI. I have a full size router and was wondering if i can customize it to use on the jig?

I use a pretty heavy router on my Universal Binding Jig. How close it is to the one at LMI, I'm not sure. I'm guessing its quite a bit bigger.
Here it is. (Sorry, but it's the only picture I have at the moment)

It uses a heavy spring (I think it's from a dishwasher door) to maintain a kind of neutral buoyancy.
