Chris:

Nice job on the tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to do it. I take it that your bending process is such that you do not need to compensate for spring back when making the bending form.

I do compensate now. Check out my modifying a bending form video or something like that.

This was the form I used to bend the plexi glass with so I didn't compensate this one. I also cut the outside form up and just used a section for the bending press caul which by the way I have to cut down even more as you can also see in that video.

I made the whole outside form to give people an Idea of how a building mold could be made using this technic.
Normally when I make a new building mold and bender form I'll start out with a body template and using a inlay router kit I'll make a inlay template that allows me to make the outside building mold template and the bending form template with whatever offset I need to compensate for the side thickness and weather I use a slat and blanket on the bottom. I have a tutorial on that in the MIMF.com library. I'm trying to get people to use their collars more or at least think about using them. I need to make a jig to shape the outside of my armrest and ribrest so that the body shape is around .090"-.100" and Im going to use the collar and probably the old inlay template to make it. When you don't have a CNC then these templates and collars are the way to go with alot of jigs. I use it all the time. I use it to make my bridge jigs too.
